Train Stations FAQ

Do you cover train stations other than Chambery, Aix les Bains, Annecy and Lyon?
Yes. Those four are our main stations, but we also arrange private transfers from stations closer to the resorts, such as Bourg St Maurice, Landry, Aime and Grenoble or from almost any other station in France on request. Just enter your own station in the quote form above to check availability and pricing.
Is a transfer from a less common station more expensive?
The fare simply reflects the real distance and driving time, worked out the same way for every route. There's no extra charge just for starting from a less frequent station.
What happens if my train is delayed?
Just let us know or contact your driver directly using the phone number sent to you before the transfer. We'll adjust your pickup time to match your train's real arrival, with no extra charge for the wait.

Which transfers are offered?
Skicab.com offers private transfers and tours only. Your vehicle is reserved exclusively for your party, and we drive you door to door wherever access allows.
Which vehicles are used?
Skicab.com uses cars, people carriers, minivans or coaches depending on your group size and availability. You can also select our First or Premium service for a specific vehicle category.
Will I have room for all my luggage?
Each passenger is allowed one suitcase and a handbag. If you need more space, you can add an option such as skis, snowboards or bikes, or select Space+ for extra room
Is the fare all-inclusive?
Yes, every Skicab.com fare is 100% all-inclusive, with no unexpected hidden fees.
Can I transport a child pushchair?
Yes, simply mention it in the comments box when booking so we can prepare accordingly
How will I find my driver?
Your driver will be waiting with a sign showing your name, either at arrivals or at the reception. Three days before travelling, we send you the driver's contact details by email and SMS
What happens if my flight or train is delayed?
We track delays and wait for you free of charge for the first thirty minutes. For longer delays, just let us know by email, SMS or WhatsApp and we'll adjust
Is it safe to book online?
Yes. You can check your booking status and download your ticket and invoice at any time. Payments are fully secured, your card details go directly to the bank and are never seen by Skicab.com.
Can I book by email or SMS?
Yes, very easily. Contact us by email, SMS or WhatsApp between 9am and 11pm, and your booking is confirmed instantly

Will I receive a booking confirmation?
Yes, you'll receive a link to your online booking where you can check its status and download your confirmation, ticket and invoice. We also send a reminder three days before departure
Is it possible to stop during the journey?
Yes, for a short break (coffee, tea, a quick bite) just ask your driver. For longer stops, add this option directly when booking
Is it possible to amend a booking?
Yes, amendments are free and easy, just email us or add a message to your booking with the changes
How do I pay for my transfer?
A deposit secures your booking, with the balance payable online or in cash to the driver. For groups of 8 or more, full payment is required at least two weeks before travelling
Are online payments 100% secure?
Yes. Payments are entered directly on your bank's secure page (3D Secure verification), your card details never reach Skicab.com.

When do I pay for my transfer? A 20% deposit is requested to confirm the booking. The balance can be paid online before travelling, or in cash (euros only) to the driver. For groups of 9 passengers or more, the balance cannot be given to the driver, it must be paid online two weeks before travelling.

How can I pay without a credit card? You can also pay by bank transfer, please contact Skicab.com to get the needed details.

Will I pay extra bank charges to pay online? If you pay the full amount online when booking, there are no bank charges. If you pay a deposit online and the balance online later, a 2% supplement is charged, on the balance only.

The following terms and conditions apply to passengers booking with Skicab.com, a trading name of TONIC services, Le Lys Martagon, 267 route de Montrigon, 73700 Bourg St Maurice, France (RCS Chambéry 328 972 682).

To guarantee the booking, a deposit is required. The final payment is given to the driver in cash (euros) or paid online on Skicab.com before travelling. For groups of 9 passengers or more, the final payment cannot be given to the driver, it must be paid online two weeks before arrival. Skicab.com will confirm the booking by email.

Bookings entered on Skicab.com must be checked online on your customer account. A booking is only confirmed once its status reads "Fully confirmed".

Amendment Amendments can only be sent by email to info@skicab.com, or online using the message box on the booking page. In case of substantial changes, including timetables, dates, number of passengers or route, Skicab.com reserves the right to reject any or all of the requested amendments. Customers should check online that their booking has been modified as requested.

Cancellation A booking can be cancelled online using the message box on the booking page. Full refund for cancellations up to fifteen days before the outbound travel date. For cancellations up to three days before the outbound travel date, 80% is refunded if the booking was paid in full, and nothing is refunded if only a deposit was paid. No refund for cancellations less than three days before the outbound travel date. Customers who cancel a booking should check online that its status reads "Cancelled".

Luggage allowance Unless a special option was booked (including Space+), each passenger is entitled to one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage. Any excess luggage or ski equipment, including snowboards, skis, bikes or pushchairs, must be declared when booking. Undeclared excess luggage may be charged an excess allowance, or Skicab.com may refuse to transport it.

Arrival and pick up times On Saturdays or at busy traffic times a transfer may take longer than usual, and a return pick up time may need to be brought forward, notified by email or SMS. If a transfer is delayed more than thirty minutes past the scheduled flight or train arrival time, please contact Skicab.com immediately. Due to traffic conditions our vehicles may arrive after the passenger, in which case please contact Skicab.com to find the driver.

Documents The ticket and invoice must be printed by the customer from the booking page. The passenger gives the driver a printed ticket, and, if the balance is paid in cash to the driver, the printed invoice too.

Prices and fares The fare on the booking is fixed and all inclusive, the driver is never allowed to claim a supplement beyond what is shown on this document. If the vehicle is a metered taxi, the price paid to the driver cannot exceed the rate shown on the meter plus any legal supplement displayed in the vehicle.

Timetables and pick ups The passenger is picked up at the time shown on the booking. For an airport or train station transfer, the driver waits in the arrivals area with a sign showing the name on the booking. For a transfer from a residence or hotel, the driver waits near the reception. If a flight or train is delayed more than thirty minutes, please contact Skicab.com as soon as possible to reschedule the transfer, otherwise an extra 25 euros per waiting hour may apply. Skicab.com reserves the right to bring pick up times forward for airport or train station transfers depending on traffic conditions.

Photos on the website All pictures and photos on the Skicab.com website are for illustration only, none of them are contractual, and the vehicles shown are examples only.

Passengers, vehicles and conditions of carriage Skicab.com can refuse to carry any person believed to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, or whose behaviour is considered a threat to the driver, the vehicle or other passengers. Alcohol, eating and smoking are not permitted on board.

Skicab.com transfers are carried out by TONIC services or independent taxi and transfer companies. The vehicles used, taxis, minibuses, cars or coaches, are all fully insured and licensed.

Skicab.com will use every reasonable means to ensure vehicles arrive and reach their destination on time, and will not be liable for a delay due to causes beyond its control. Vehicles are fully insured for passenger and third party claims as required by local law, but customer property is carried entirely at their own risk, no responsibility can be accepted for loss or damage, and customers are advised to check their own travel insurance.

Circumstances beyond Skicab.com's control include, without limitation, accidents causing delays, exceptional or severe weather including snow, compliance with police requests, traffic delays, vandalism or terrorism, road closures due to local events, and a client failing to provide accurate arrival or departure information. Any difficulty with the service should be reported as soon as practicable, so Skicab.com has a fair opportunity to resolve it.

Disputes Skicab.com is only liable for reasonable consequential losses directly arising from a breach of contract, limited to the fare of the transfer booked. Any dispute that cannot be resolved between Skicab.com and the customer falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tribunal de Commerce or Tribunal de Grande Instance of Chambéry (Savoie, France).
